Eloped on a Cliffside in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky

This was such a fun and special wedding! When I initially talked to Jess about her wedding and what she invisioned for her day it was clear she wanted to make it as special as possible, but she was worried about being so untraditional. I assured her I was SO pumped to celebrate all the things she was excited about, too and help make it a memorable day!

Jess + Justin had their first look at the entrance of Nada Tunnel in the Red River Gorge. #iykyk

What an epic location for a first look! Then, we explored a bit and hiked the rocksides for even more grand views. I'm from western KY, so landscapes of Appalachia and eastern KY are always so spectacular to me!

We met up with Jess + Justin's families for a hike to the cliffside where the family came together for a quick decoration to make for the most touching, intimate ceremony. *Did you peep the fellas in the woods picture? This awesome group of college guys who were camping there for the weekend got a lovely surprise when we showed up to have a ceremony right next to their camp site! They watched on, and cheered at the end! And even got a pic with the couple, too!*

The family celebrated the couple afterwards at a lovely cabin with a spectacular meal and cake. I loved being able to help celebrate the couple too! No matter the size of a wedding, I always find that the couples that choose me do so because I care about how THEY want to celebrate their day, because I will help them do just that in a way that is authentic to them. I believe that is what makes a good photograph that turns into a memory.

Thanks Jess + Justin for letting me tag along (hike along?) on your wedding day!
